VPOP3 Antivirus Update Error 52

VPOP3AV update error 52 is a network error.

First, make sure you are using VPOP3 Antivirus v1.1.0 or later. You can download this from https://www.pscs.co.uk/products/vpop3/av/download - make sure you download the correct 32 or 64 bit version depending on your VPOP3 installation (NOT your Windows installation).

 

If you already have VPOP3 Antivirus v1.1.0 or later, then you can try these steps:

  1. delete the VPOP3\plugins\vpop3av\db\mirrors.dat file if it exists
  2. In the VPOP3\plugins\vpop3av\vpop3avu.conf file add the line: 

    DatabaseMirror avupdates.pscs.co.uk

    above the line which says:

    DatabaseMirror database.clamav.net

  3. At a command prompt, navigate to the VPOP3\plugins\vpop3av folder (eg cd \vpop3\plugins\vpop3av) and run the vpop3avu.exe file manually to see if it reports any errors. If it does, they may help, or you can send them to support@pscs.co.uk for assistance.
