Current versions of VPOP3 (v7.2 or later) need Windows Vista or later. All versions of VPOP3 from v2.6 onwards will run on Windows Vista or later - except for "Windows 10 S".
That means that if you have a version of Windows which was released after 2006, VPOP3 v2.6 or later will run on it. (Unless it is Windows RT, Windows CE, Windows Mobile, Windows IoT etc).
We are often asked questions such as those below. The answer is 'if it's Windows Vista or later, yes it will'.
- Will it run on Windows 7? - Windows 7 is later than Windows Vista, so, yes it will
- Will it run on Windows 2012R2? - Windows 2012 R2 is later than Windows Vista, so, yes it will
- Will it run on Windows 2008 Datacenter edition? - Windows 2008 is later than Windows Vista, so, yes it will
- Will it run on Windows 8.1 Pro? - Windows 8.1 is later than Windows Vista, so, yes it will
- Will it run on Windows 2016 Essentials? - Windows 2016 is later than Windows Vista, so, yes it will
- Will it run on Windows 3.0? - Windows 3.0 is earlier than Windows Vista, so, no it won't
- Will it run on a Commodore 64? - a Commodore 64 does not run Windows and is earlier than Windows Vista, so, no it won't
- Will it run on an Ubuntu server? - Ubuntu is not Windows, so, no it won't

Earlier versions of VPOP3 will run on earlier versions of Windows
- Windows 95, 98, ME - Needs VPOP3 v2.6 or earlier
- Windows NT4 - Needs VPOP3 v2.6 or earlier

- Windows XP - Needs VPOP3 v7.1 or earlier
- Windows 2003 - Needs VPOP3 v7.1 or earlier
